What We Collect
TargetAtlas collects the account information needed to run the service, including your email address, profile settings, membership status, home state if you provide it, and technical records needed for authentication, support, and reliability.
If you become a paid member, Stripe processes payment details. TargetAtlas stores billing identifiers such as customer or subscription IDs so we can connect your account to your membership status. We do not store full card numbers.
Journal Entries, Photos, and Submissions
If you use the Hunt Journal or submit a beach zone, you may provide notes, find categories, beach conditions, locations, or photos. Journal content is treated as account content and is not intended to be public unless TargetAtlas later adds sharing controls that you choose to use.
Please avoid entering sensitive personal information, exact home addresses, private information about other people, or details you would not want associated with your account.
Aggregate Signals
TargetAtlas may use anonymous or aggregated activity signals to improve beach scoring, forecast quality, product reliability, and coverage decisions. For example, aggregate hunt activity may help us understand whether a beach or condition window was useful.
We do not need to publish your personal notes, exact finds, or private journal details to use aggregate product signals.
Alerts and Notifications
If you opt into alerts, TargetAtlas may store notification preferences and browser/device subscription records needed to send storm windows, beach updates, or account messages. You can disable browser notifications through your browser or device settings.
How We Use Data
We use data to operate accounts, provide forecasts and Hunt Briefs, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, debug failures, improve scoring, and make product decisions.
We do not sell account or journal data. If TargetAtlas uses service providers such as Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, Resend, or Mapbox, those providers only receive the information needed for their part of the service.
Access, Updates, and Deletion
You can update account information from My TargetAtlas. For deletion, export, billing, or privacy questions, contact us and we will review the request.
